Training of Trainers (ToT) Programs

Our 40-hour Training of Trainers (ToT) programs provide continuing education in geriatrics for health professionals from multiple disciplines. We work with our community partners to develop training programs needed by their staff.

Employing traditional educational methodologies with distance learning technology, NorCal GEC ToT programs offer in-depth training on current geriatric care issues with greater flexibility for working professionals. The series is designed for physicians, nurses, social workers, and other health professionals who have responsibilities for educating or training others in staff development.

Our ToT programs are based on an educational model designed to teach health professionals how to teach. With our guidance and assistance, each participant develops and implements an educational plan for in-service programs or other training sessions, based on the content learned in the ToT program. Participants also learn strategies for evaluating the effectiveness of their training programs.
