Geriatrics Faculty Scholars
Program
This interdisciplinary faculty
development program in geriatrics is designed to increase geriatrics
knowledge and clinical care skills. Scholars gain greater comfort
and competence in teaching health professions students and residents
about geriatrics and in providing health care services to older patients.
Program Curriculum:

Covers areas of clinical competence with an emphasis on teaching in both clinical and classroom settings

Includes monthly four-hour sessions and
three weekend retreats

Scholars work with a mentor to develop,
implement, and evaluate a geriatrics teaching program in their own
discipline. Scholars may also develop age-related research or training
proposals to be submitted for funding

A total of 160 hours over one year is required
to complete the program
